Who Am I?

First of all, I’m a mountain-loving, coffee-guzzling, Star Wars geek. Originally from Pittsburgh (go Steelers!), I now live in Charleston, South Carolina, with my husband, two children, and two dogs. I love to hike, run, read, write, and spend time with my family.

I’m a fully trained copyeditor and proofreader with certificates from the University of California and Edit Republic, reputable schools well-known in editorial circles. I have a professional writing certificate from Trident Technical College in Charleston, South Carolina. I’m a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) and The Society for Editing (ACES), two of the premier United States editorial organizations. I continuously pursue education to keep up with the changing demands of the editorial world.

I started Acme Editorial to provide the highest quality editorial services. I’m deeply passionate about my work—it’s my calling, and I have the talent. Nothing pleases me more than to return your book to you, ready to set the world on fire.

In my previous life, I was a medical technologist and public relations practitioner. My laboratory career required my meticulous attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet strict deadlines. PR called for my customer service and writing skills and my ability to see the big and small pictures. I left the corporate world to stay home and raise my kids. Now they’re grown, so I’ve got a lot more Me time on my hands. Now I’m a freelance editor.
